About SugarPants:

In each of us lurks the secret desire to reveal our truest self. Beneath that calm facade lurks the heart of a pirate, the sparkle of a princess, or the saucy wink of a burlesque dancer. But no longer must we cast aside the youthful fantasies that live within our hearts- with SugarPants, you can be whatever you want to be: superhero, rockstar, mermaid...every day!

SugarPants allows you to express yourself in both style and comfort. The designs are as diverse as your wild imagination. Feeling saucy enough to rock that Victorian corset, but not quite ready for the fainting couch? SugarPants is for you. Feel like leaping over tall buildings in a single bound, but not quite ready for the full body spandex? Look no further!

About us:

Jennifer Coyle and Meleina Mayhew, longtime friends, designers and underpants-wearers, created SugarPants in answer to the universal question, "Who am I?" The idea was born over margaritas in LA's famous El Coyote restaurant, a product of two creative professional artists who were raised on WonderWoman Underoos, princess dresses and Disneyland. Jennifer and Meleina have made their mark in the world of toy design and animation and decided to pool their diverse talents into the creation of SugarPants, which indeed are an amalgamation of these universes: part character, part fantasy, and part fun!

Jennifer:

Jennifer graduated with a BFA in Illustration from Cal State Long Beach. She has devoted her life since to telling stories in many mediums, including illustration, traditional animation, digital storyboarding and product design. She is currently directing on Fox's new primetime comedy, Bob's Burgers. As one of very few female action/adventure directors in the animation business, her credits include ABC's The Goode Family, Disney XD's Spectacular Spider-man, ABC Family's Slacker Cats, Mattel's Monster High and WB's Scooby-Doo. She has worked as a story artist on Hellboy Animated, King of the Hill, Tom and Jerry, GI Joe and many more. She has designed licensed product and provided character direction for Sanrio, Sesame Street, Mattel and Warner Brothers. Jen also wrote and illustrated her own monthly Hello Kitty comic for Sanrio's publication, Strawberry News. Jennifer is a true visionary, and brings her knowledge of character and costume to the SugarPants line, as her illustrations begin every design.

Meleina:

Since graduating from Otis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Toy Design, Meleina has enjoyed a successful career in design and product development in the toy, fashion, jewelry and accessory industries. An extraordinary designer in her own right, she was instrumental in the development and launch of Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers accessory line, Tokidoki's jewelry line and Hello Kitty/Sanrio products ranging from apparel to handbags and plush toys. Meleina has worked on other licensed properties including Sesame Street, Scooby-Doo and various Disney brands with companies like Mattel, Hasbro, Jakks Pacific and Spinmaster. Her vast experience in art direction, design and manufacturing/production, and brand strategy was instrumental in creating the SugarPants' design aesthetic.

Jennifer and Meleina know that creativity begins at the innermost layer. They invite women everywhere to ditch those granny panties, get empowered, and have fun...

Peace, Love, and SugarPants!
